Cleaning & Desinfection Instructions
IMPORTANT: Do not apply or spray liquids directly on the device, liquids can damage electronic components and cause failures. Avoid moisture penetration into openings which could travel inside the phone. Liquid intrusion to the Mitel 6800/6900 IP Phones may disrupt the functionality of the device and will void the warranty.
To reduce risk of damage, the unit should be powered down prior to cleaning/desinfecting – refer to the user guide for proper instructions.
Using a soft, lint free microfiber cloth, gently wipe the exterior surfaces of the device. The cloth may be dampened (not wetted) with Isopropyl Alcohol (70 percent) to disinfect the surfaces of the phone.
Do not apply excessive pressure and avoid excessive wiping. Extensive rubbing during cleaning/disinfection may cause permanent damage to the surfaces of the device.
Alternate Desinfection Process
An alternate means of disinfection for the phones is to expose them to ultraviolet light. Use an Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) device that emits UV-C radiation (254nm wavelength). Power down the phone and place it in the UVGI device for 10 minutes.
Cleaning & Desinfecting Frequency
It is recommended that cleaning/desinfecting of Mitel phones using Isopropyl Alcohol not occur more than
once a day during the life of the product.
Precautions
• Do not use chemicals such as detergents, bleach, acetone, window cleaners, household cleaners,
ethonal, hydriogen peroxide, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives to
clean Mitel phones.
• Do not use abrasive cloths, paper towels, brushes or srub pads to clean the phones.
• Damage caused by use of an unapproved cleaning process (i.e. cleaning agent other than Isypropol
Alcohol or use of anything other than a soft microfiber cloth) will void the phone’s warranty.
